Frequently Asked Questions
What is your day rate?
Our rates are based on several variables. These include number of days, equipment required and location. We offer half-day rates, one-person crew rates and significant discounts for multiple day bookings. Please call for details.
How much does it cost for you to travel?
Travel days are usually billed at 50% of the day rate for personnel. We do not bill for equipment on travel days. These rates are flexible depending on the project.
Do you need a permit for shooting on location?
The city of San Diego does not charge or provide permits. However, the city does ask that you submit a filming registration form prior to any production in public areas. You can read more about San Diego’s Filming Guidelines here. Other surrounding areas may require permits with a nominal fee.
Do you have insurance?
We have $4,000,000 liability coverage and all the equipment is insured for theft and damage. The liability insurance covers for unforeseen damages if occurred during production by any Diamond Production-Group crew member.
Is Lighting/Grip equipment included?
Our lighting package includes tungsten kits with Chimera soft boxes, gels and diffusion. We also provide grip packages that include silks, flags, c-stands and combo stands. HMI lighting, camera jib and full grip truck packages are available for an additional charge.
What is required to book a shoot?
For new clients we require a 50% deposit to hold shooting days. If the shoot is last minute we will work with you. If cancellation occurs within 24 hours of the shoot day, the deposit is not refunded.
What is required to shoot out of the country?
U.S. Customs requires a Certificate of Registration with a list of every piece of equipment taken across the border. We must take our equipment to the U. S. Customs office before the day of the shoot. Each piece of equipment is inspected and a certificate is issued with their stamp to insure there will be no problems re-entering the US with our gear. We charge a nominal fee for obtaining this certificate.
If we are denied entrance to Mexico for any reason, it is our policy to charge our client 75% of our daily rate.
Clients are responsible for all work permits as well as international insurance coverage. This includes vehicle insurance and international gear insurance. This paperwork must be completed 24 hours prior to the shoot day.
Do you have editing facilities?
We have a Adobe Premiere Pro editing system and a Final Cut Pro editing system. We also have an extensive music library for your production needs and a large pool of professional announcers. For final delivery, we can provide any format you need.
What is your rate for editing?
Our rates are based on several variables. These include digitizing, logging, online editing, dubbing, graphics, music licensing and compression time. Edit bays are available for rental with or without an editior. Please call for details.
Do you create animations?
Our graphic animators are very talented and have over twenty years experience. They have produced animations for television and film. From simple to complex, we can provide you with the design you’re looking for. Please call for details.
Can you provide talent?
We work with several agencies in San Diego and Los Angeles. We can provide you with headshots of any type of talent you’re looking for. From on camera talent to voice over announcers, we can provide you with an in-depth selection of great talent for your perfect production.
